My mission is to provide inspiration and motivation to make healthier lifestyle changes that are both enjoyable and sustainable. I believe food should be delicious, fitness should be fun, and wellness can be integrated into every lifestyle in a way that works best for each unique individual.
My name is Julie Akwabi-Ameyaw and I'm here to help you reach your unique health and wellness goals. I've seen too many people, myself included, wasting precious time being unhappy with how they look and feel. I spent years on what I call the diet roller coaster. I would try a new diet, feel too restricted, be miserable, go back to the way I was eating before, feel guilty about what I was eating, try another new diet . . . You get the idea! It wasn't until pregnancy and the birth of my first daughter that I started to shift how I approached my health and why it was important. I went from a place of disliking how I looked and depriving myself, to learning to appreciate my body for the amazing things it is capable of, and loving and nurturing myself regardless of how my body changed.
I live in Oakland, CA with my husband and two daughters who inspire me to create a healthier environment for myself and others. I have a background in Psychology and Sociology with a concentration in Counseling and Behavior Analysis and received my health coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition, fitness and wellness. There is a lot of information out there (both accurate and not) when it comes to diets and healthy living. I take a unique approach that helps you sort through the noise and find what works best for you. My passion is helping others to create a happy, healthy lifestyle that they truly love. No more diets, no more body shaming, no more chasing a number on a scale.
